Train Station Renovation Renderings

These pictures are part of a midterm project for my Design Technology program at Ivy Tech in Bloomington, Indiana. My project involved faithfully reconstructing an abandoned train station using Sketchup and producing renderings depicting how it would look if it were renovated as a city museum.
The train station in 1910, shortly after it was constructed. It was bulit in the newly founded steel town of Gary, Indiana in the Beaux-Arts style.
Picture from the IU Gary archives.
A photo taken by myself in July of 2010 of the station today. It closed some time in the 1950s and has remained abandoned ever since.
An interior shot of the station taken by myself in July of 2010. The building's lakefront location strongly contributed to its rapid decay. Slight architectural remnants remain, such as the coffered ceiling, star shaped window panes, and the frame for the large skylight.
This is a front elevation mockup of the restored building, drawn in Sketchup.
Side elevation drawn in Sketchup.
A test rendering of the partially completed exterior, made using Shaderlight pro.
This is a side section view of the main museum area. As I had no historical documents to reference, the interior design and coloring is my own creation.
A front section view of the interior, showing the second floor balcony and skylight detail.
The first of two finalized, nighttime renders. The image took roughly 6 hours to render, with a further 2 hours of post processing done in Photoshop.
The second finalized render, depicting the interior. Rendered in approximately 7 hours with an additional hour of post processing done in Photoshop.
